23rd April 2019.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the summer term we hope that you all had a lovely Easter break.

Theme

We are launching a mini ”Recycling” theme this half term with our Eco planting this week - many thanks to all of you who have and are contributing to this. We spent some time last half term in the afternoons encouraging the children to think about recycling and all the children have enjoyed helping us to put our waste into the correct recycling bins. We always welcome family input and if you would like to get involved in any way or have any ideas to enhance what we are doing then do please let us know. As always you will be able to catch up with what we have been doing throughout the week via the website on a Friday afternoon. Here you can always find our plans and a little paragraph giving a bit more detail as to what we have been doing during the week.

Website:

Some of you may have spotted that we had some difficulties with the website last half term but we are pleased to report that all issues have now been resolved.

Website Testimonials:

The website is such an important point of contact both for existing families and also new or potential ones and we really would be immensely grateful if you felt you could post a testimonial there. - it is very simple to do just follow the link on the top of the homepage.

Primary School admissions:

If your child starts school in September then please let us know which Primary school they will be attending. This will help us with our transfer arrangements for the children.

Staffing:

We are pleased to say that Brenda has not yet moved and we are hopeful that she will be with us until the end of the summer term.

Extended Sessions:

Our extended sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for our older children and are particularly geared towards getting the children ready for the transition to primary school. This term the children will be practising getting changed for P.E. which is often a big hurdle in reception class. Sessions are currently £10:00 per session – please speak to Teresa if your child is off to school this September and you wish your child to attend.

Additional Sessions:

If you wish your child to increase their sessions at any point please do speak to Teresa. We usually have a long waiting list and want to ensure that we are able to prioritise your requirements

Photographer

The photographer will be coming in on Tuesday 11th June. She will be taking both a group photograph which is a lovely keepsake of your child’s time at pre-school together with individual photos. She will not be taking any sibling photographs this time. We will put a sign up sheet up nearer the date when we will ask you to indicate whether you wish your child to be photographed or not.

Summer events

The date for our Summer Show is Wednesday 17th July so please put this in your diary. The children really enjoy showcasing some of the activities they participate in during our daily P.E. session and circle time at this event and all families are invited. Please bring your child along at 10:00 that morning and the show will commence at 10:15. Afterwards we will have our summer coffee and fundraising event.

Our Teddy Bears Picnic will be on Friday 19th July from 9:45 until 12:00. The children are invited to bring their teddy bear in for the morning. Please provide your child (and their teddy!) with a packed lunch in a named container.

Please note that Thursday 19th July will be a normal session.

May we remind you that we are always happy to arrange a time to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.
