Dear Parents and Carers

We hope you all enjoyed a break over half term and we are pleased to welcome you all back to the second half of the autumn term.

This week we will be thinking about autumnal weather before moving on to focus on bonfire night and Diwali next week. After that we will begin to shift our focus towards Christmas as the children start to learn the songs for our nativity production this year and also work on some Christmas crafts. If you would like to get involved in any way then please speak to Teresa.

Christmas Dates for your diary:

Our Nativity and fund-raising morning will be on Wednesday 12th December. Please note that a carer or parent must be present for your child during the morning and that the children arrive at 10:00. The nativity will commence at 10:15, after which you are invited to stay for coffee and our fundraising . All the children are involved in this event and all parents, friends and family invited. This year we will be running a toy tombola and would therefore be very grateful for donations of any toys you may no longer want at home. We would also appreciate help in either ticketing up the items in advance or helping to man the stall on the day.

We will also have a cake stall for which we will invite donations nearer the time. Please keep an eye out on our notice board for sign up sheets.

The Christmas party will be held on Friday 14th December at 9:45 and we have booked an entertainer for this morning. ALL the children are invited to attend the party and will need a named packed lunch. Please note that we are a nut free zone and are unable to accept any lunches with nut products on the premises. The party will finish at 12.00 with a special visit from someone very festive

Extended Sessions:

Please note that there will be no extended sessions during the last week of term. The final extended session this termwill therefore be on Thursday 6th December.

Parents Rota:

We have a parent’s rota on the notice board and once your child is settled you are very welcome to put your name on the rota and stay for a session (or even just an hour). You may be surprised at just how much we pack into a morning and we would love to see you

Home Share Sheets:

We like to celebrate the childrens achievements whether here or at home and would encourage you to share any small thing that your child may have achieved at home. If you would like to add something to your child’s record then please pick up a Home share sheet from our parents table in the entrance hall. Alternatively we have some cut out leaves and pine cones in a basket in the entrance hall. Fill one in and we will add it to our special achievement board in the lounge.

Childrens clothing:

Please be aware that we are outdoors most days and your child will therefore need a suitable outdoor coat for the colder weather. Please ensure that your child’s coat and jumpers/cardigans are labelled to enable us to return items to the right child at the end of the session!

We would also be grateful if children do not wear wellington boots during the morning.  You are very welcome to leave your childrens boots underneath their peg if they wear them to and fro the setting. Many thanks.

Primary School Admissions:

If your child was born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 then you are able to apply online now for their primary school place. Details are available on Bromley’s website together with details of school open days on their schools and colleges page. You will be able to amend and upload any documents right up to the close date of 15th January should you wish. Please note that as verification of your school application the Borough will require a letter from the Child Benefit Department regardless of whether you are eligible for receipt of this or not. We would strongly recommend that you apply for this now as the waiting time is up to 12 weeks.

Website Testimonials:

We hope that you all find the information on our website useful. We know that a lot of potential families use this as their first port of call when researching Pals and we are therefore always grateful for parents posting a testimonial on the website. If you would like to post a testimonial then please click on the testimonial link on the home page.

As a team we regularly evaluate all we do and it is important to us that we get it right for the children in our care. As part of our evaluation we will be sending home some parental questionnaires later on in the term which we would appreciate you taking the time to complete and return.

As always we are always happy to arrange a time to talk to you should you wish to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.
